Our second semester, still in process, is at least equally grand as the first, and in many respects even better. Students have kept improving, growing, taking more control of their learning, and becoming more responsible.
7th graders have worked hard on collaborating with SSIS on a mandala-on-umbrella project. They hosted SSIS students to teach them, visited them to learn from them. Their umbrellas are now hanging in the room and getting more beautiful by the week.
6th graders have kept learning about a variety of topics, came up with a possible schedule for an International Peace Day event at LSTS, and submitted their ideas in an email they wrote to the head of school and head (Mr Chen) of students' affairs (Ms Kim Anh), who were both happy to see students working on such big issues.
All classes have been doing a good job teaching! Over 6 weeks, groups of students taught their class mates for a whole period (and sometimes even 2!) per week. Many showed a good sense of leadership, responsibility, and creativity. Many grew from their first attempt at leading a group for such a long period of time, understanding how it feels to teach and manage a group of 30 students!
Our semester is not over, so keep it up students! You are amazing and I have faith you'll keep impressing me in the two months that are left!
Mr Baptiste
